I'm a blind player using a screen reader, are there any accommodations?
-
Yes. We have a blind player flag that can be set on your character by an
immortal.
After choosing a name and password, ask for assistance by typing: newbie I am a blind player, please
help.

How do I move around?
-
Moving around uses the following commands. North, South, East, West,
Up, and Down. While in creation, just go north in each room and follow
the instructions. After creation (once you type "confirm") you should
continue north and follow the path into the Mud School will give you a
more in-depth overview of many aspects of the mud. If you ever get
lost, remember you can type "recall" to go back to the newbie school.
If you are below level 20, to get back to the path with those in-depth
instructions, type recall and proceed north. After level 20, you will
recall instead to your race's hometown. To return to the school, type
"recall" then "examine model".

What is pseudo level?
-
If you are a mortal, your pseudo level is determined by whichever class
is your highest. It doesn't matter if you are higher in a secondary
class than your main class because no matter what your highest level
is, that is your pseudo level at mortal. Once you reach remortal
status, every 4 levels you gain will add 1 to your pseudo level . For
example, if you are level 4 single remort, you will be pseudo level 81.
If you are level 80 single remort, you will be level 100, and if you
are level 80 single remort AND level 40 double remort, you will be
pseudo level 110. Once you reach level 80 in BOTH of your remort
classes, your pseudo level will be 120.

What is a "Mob"?
-
A Mob or mobile is another term for monsters or NPCs around the MUD. See the
Mud School for more details.
-
-
How do I get quest points?
-
There are a few different ways to get quest points. The best way is by
participating in crusade quests (help crusade) or mquests (help
mquest). Mobs will talk continuously on the crusade channel, asking for
different items. If you are able to return the item before the time
limit is up, you will be rewarded with quest points, practice points,
gold, and experience. If you are unfamiliar with the areas and do not
have the "hunt" skill, you may have better luck with mquests. To start
an mquest, go to the questmaster which is north of Market Square in
Midgaard and type "Mquest request". See "help crusade" "help quest" and
"help mquest" for details.

Ok, I keep dying. I'm getting
annoyed.
-
Well, that wasn't a question, but if you keep dying, you might want to
review the path in the newbie school. You can also set an "alert" which
will tell you when your HPs fall below the number you designate. Type
"alert #" to receive such a warning. You can "flee" from most mobs and
receive an experience penalty, or you can type "recall" for a much
smaller penalty. Also, remember to "consider" a mob before attacking
it. If you feel it may be too powerful for you to kill, try "con"ing
something else. You may need to find another area to explore. Type
"areas" to see a list of areas that may be appropriate, and "ahelp
<area name>" for information on how to find them.
-
-
How do I find a place to kill mobs?
-
First, type "areas". Then, look at the left of the list for areas in
your level range. Once you find an area you wish to explore, type
"ahelp (area)".
-
-
I'm around level 50 and mobs with a (White) before their name seem to have a lot more armor around them! What do it do?
-
That (White) before a mob's name is called sanctuary. Most likely, you
have sanctuary active on you as well. What it does is cuts all incoming
damage dealt to you by half. To get rid of it, you're going to have to
dispel the mob. Before getting the level 68 mage spell, "dispel magic,"
there is another way to do this: from Market Square in Midgaard, go
west twice and north. Stock up on "scrolls of dispel" (type "buy
scroll" or "buy # scroll" to get multiples). To use the scroll, first
attack a mob with sanctuary and type "recite scroll enemy". If it
doesn't work the first time, keep trying! If it still doesn't work, it
could be that some equipment the mob is wearing bestows the affect
permanently. If this is the case, some gear can be removed by using the
"poison" spell, or at remort levels, by using the "heat armor" or "lava
burst" spell. Dispel can work on other spell affects too and is very
important for speeding up how quickly you level.

I have more questions that aren't listed here.

You are encouraged
to ask any and all questions you'd like on any channel. Players and the

How do I see what skills and spells I have, what I can learn, and what they do?
-
Type "skills" to see what skills you have. Type "spells" to see what
spells you have, and type "spell cost" to see how much mana they take
to cast. Type slist (class abbv.) to see what skills and spells are
available to you. Type shelp (skill or spell) to see what the skills
and spells do.

I have another question that isn't on this list. How can I get it answered?
